Welcome

Art is a journey - a testament to dedication, creativity, and a deep connection to the world around us.

Jacqui’s artistic path began in the tranquil landscapes of Burrawang, NSW, where the influences of a quilting mother, a crafty grandmother, and a sketch book gifted by her navy grandfather laid the foundation for her creative spirit.

In 1992, a pivotal encounter with Rodney Monk at Moss Vale High School ignited Jacqui’s passion for mural painting, leading her to contribute to a collaborative masterpiece for the school. This early exposure to art fueled her drive, and by 1996, she had completed a Diploma in Fine Arts, earning high distinctions in Drawing. Under the mentorship of renowned artists Susan May, Robyn Kinsela and Bob Millis, Jacqui discovered a love for Acrylic painting, developing a distinctive style focused on colour, tonal values, and the depiction of urban landscapes and the human figure.

Her work often reflects the beauty of the world around her, whether capturing the dynamic hills of Bowral, the grace of cyclists, or the wildflowers and snow-capped peaks of Australia’s high country. In the aftermath of the 2020 bush fires, Jacqui found inspiration in the resilience of nature, particularly in the migration of birds and the renewal of life. This period saw her create a series of works, marked by rhythmic brushstrokes on wet canvas, that expressed themes of movement and transformation, offering solace during lockdown.

Now, having completed an Artist in Residency program in 2024, Jacqui’s focus has returned to the nostalgia of the Southern Highlands. Her latest work explores the charm of quaint cottages and the untold stories of those who inhabit them, all while capturing Australia’s landscapes in a contemporary and evocative way.
